Sorry Mets fans

It’s been a few days now since the Phillies loss in the World Series. From what I’ve seen, Philly fans are taking it pretty well. I think we still feel pretty good about 2008, and that we’re a little disappointed about 2009, but definitely not devastated. As KDawg mentioned to me, it’s not like we blew a bunch of games in the World Series or anything. The Yankees mostly just beat us, and the things we struggled with during the regular season bit us in the ass in the last series of the year. The fact that we were playing in the last series of the year, that’s pretty great.

Manuel article

I really liked this article. It gives Charlie Manuel his due, something that usually only the fans recognize. Kind of amazing that we had a shot to win the whole thing, considering the differences between this year’s team and last year’s. Not so much in actual people, but in how those people performed.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I’m currently moving home from Germany, which means I’ve been very busy. I couldn’t even stay up to watch the World Series game last night after running myself ragged for a few days. I have some quick thoughts on Game 4 though.

das Skiz reviews: Game 2

If you saw game 2, it had the same feeling that all of the recent Phillies playoff losses have had. There was that sense that we were just waiting for the other team to take the lead, and that tonight just wasn’t our night. AJ Burnett was absolutely nasty last night. His curveball was ridiculous, and he was getting the calls on the ‘corner’ (obviously by corner here I mean the Atlanta Braves mid 90s corner). Anyway, what else did I see:
